Be A KED AGAIN!

Back in the days, when I was a kid, you could find me and my sisters wearing fresh white KEDS sneakers with pretty dress socks. As we aged and reached pre-teens, KEDS fell to the waste side, as did my parents wallet, from buying other shoes such as, Filas, Dione Sanders, and Reebox. Which were considered the "cool kid" shoes. After wearing the Fila, Dione Sander high tops and Reebox, I have realized the classic style of KEDs shoes and have been reunited.

KEDS over the years have kept their original identity, which I can appreicate. Along with a little splash of color, inspiration from fashion, pop culture, art and past 1970 NBA sneakers. The wide variety of sneaker designs can fit all types of personalities. But, if you cannot find a shoe, KEDS gives you the option to customize your own sneaker. How  exciting! The sneakers, I believe are the true definition of comfort meeting fashion, with an affordable price that I am sure a lot of people could appreciate.

A Beautiful Book, An Unforgetable Journey

While in Borders, I took a journey through the desert sands of Egypt to the sparkling snow of the Russian tundra, traveling the globe like royalty through the tales of fourteen dazzling princesses!

What a journey I had, such a beautiful journey...I meet Nukka, the Eskimo Princess, Taia, the Tahitian Princess, Rehani, the African Princess and so many more across the globe.  The royal excursion was phenomenal and sweet, as I flipped across the pages of the book that created a real-life illusion. As if I were jet setting across the globe, visiting each princess and engaging in their culture.

This literature should be a bed side must for all young girls across the globe. The illustrations are created for all ethnicities and cultures for young girls to identify themselves with. I believe this book is not only healthy for self-image, but educational. Whoever decides to take a journey, while reading this book, will be in for an amazing treat! Although, fairy-tales are untrue, the truth about this book is that ALL young girls from every background, race, country, and ethnicity are surely Princesses of the Wold!

Date Rape Detecting Lipgloss

When beauty and safety join forces, they create a BRILLANT idea.
Being glamorous, safe and having a good time all-in-1.

After Tracy Whittaker was warned by a waitress that the drink a handsome stranger bought her might be spiked, Whittaker took action. She started 2 Love My Lips, a line of minty-fresh, lip-plumping glosses with built-in test strips that detect date-rape drugs in drinks. The final design, two years in the making, received wide attention when it launched a few months ago in Whittaker's native U.K.

The mission of 2lovemylips to help bring attention to the growing problem of drink spiking, an issue that is affecting night life hot spots world wide. The lip gloss can help women everywhere feel their best while the test strip offers a line of defence against drink spikers.

I heart OATMEAL, You?!

As a meal, I could eat oatmeal morning, noon and night, or just for a plain old snack. Oatmeal is soooo good! And, can be eaten in so many different ways. I choose to add fruits (blueberries, bananas, & strawberries) and honey, as a sweetener to my bowl of oatmeal. Often times, I find myself in persuading conversations with others, who question my desire to eat oatmeal morning, noon and night. So, here are my 5 points of persuasion, as to why everyone should eat & LOVE oatmeal, like I do!
  1. Oatmeal may help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Several studies has shown, the positive health correlation between eating 3/4 cups of oatmeal a day and lower cholesterol levels. Oats are consisted of soluble fibers, which helps keep the "bad cholesterol down.In 1997, the Food and Drug Administration announced that oatmeal could carry a label claiming it may reduce the risk of heart disease when combined with a low-fat diet.
  2. Oatmeal may reduce the risk of certain cancers. Fibers and other nutrients will fight for you, if you increase your intake of oats.
  3. Oatmeal contains a wide array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are a + to your overall health of your body. Be good to yourself.
  4. Oatmeal is quick and convenient. If your working or going to 8 o'clock classes, you can sprinkle some oats in a bowl, pour milk or water, and pop in the microwave for less than 3 minutes, to have a warm and traveling meal for breakfast, while on the run. Sometimes, I put my oatmeal in cup and drink while driving. Drinking oatmeal is the only drinking & driving, I will encourage.
  5. Oatmeal is absolutely delicious! Like I said, you can eat oatmeal with great toppings and mixtures. Add blueberries, bananas, raisins, strawberries, or your favorite fruit of choice, with a few circles of honey and/or a dash of cinnamon.
Yum...

When Fashion Recognizes Hip Hop Goddesses

''Whatta man, whatta man, whatta man, whatta mighty GOOD man"
"yes, he is"
"I wanna take a minute or two, to give much respect to the man that makes a diiference in my world..."

When I sing those lyrics to " Whatta Man" by Salt N Pepa, I have one good man in mind, my father, that is...But, really Salt N Pepa is singing about special men (wink, wink) other than their fathers in that song. I guess, I just haven't reached that level of admiration of another man, yet-- but, one day though, one day!

Anyways, Salt N Pepper, the Hip Hop Goddesses of the late 80's to 90's receives fashion tribute in V Magazine for the March issue. Supermodels Liya Kebede and Lily Donaldson turn up the spin table, amp up the bass and rock the mic to the fashion story, behind REAL hip-hop pioneers such as, Salt N' Pepa & MC Lyte.

Fashion for the bitsy ones, fashion for the hippy ones. One size fits ALL is the new fashion mantra, so, at least that's what photographers Terry Richardson & Solve Sundsbo believes. The pages of fashion will be fuller, thicker, bold and CURVAIOUCS!
